Raymond to launch Khadi as “Fashion Fabric”

Let me start this article with a quick question? How many of you love khadi products? Well, I am one of a hardcore fan of Khadi products. I feel their products make you feel very Indian. I get a lot of patriotic feeling when I wear Khadi fabrics. Here is a good news for all the Khadi lovers out there. Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has partnered with fabric and apparel giant Raymond to produce a range of Khadi products called ” Khadi by Raymond” across the world. I am sure this will also have a huge scope of employment opportunities too. That’s right, around 2.10 lakh man hours for spinners and weavers will be generated through this collaboration.

Khadi by Raymond will be available to you at the KVIC outlets and Raymond shops across the country from next year. The estimated start date would be from February 2017. Definitely, this wide range of fashion products will be available online.

The main agenda of this collaboration was to bridge the gap between the rural and urban areas. This initiative will help in promoting Khadi industry in the rural areas as well. Also, I see it this way, this is a great step forward in creating a lot of employment amongst the Indian population.

How does it work?

Raymond will provide design know-how to the khadi manufacturing units to craft the readymade garments. This is ideal as Khadi is known for its fabrics and raw materials and Raymond for its technical expertise and design solutions. Of course, Raymond also has a much global presence too. How can I forget that?

What do they offer?

They will continue to offer a wide array of fabric garments such as suits, jackets, shirts and trousers at an international level.

This New Year, I am sure you all are going to get a chance to redesign your wardrobe with some Khadi collections.
