I was amazed to see such budget friendly laptop from a popular manufacturer. I must say this, advertisement plays a very crucial role in the decision making process. I was totally flattered by this advertisement. I dug a little deeper and found that there are indeed amazing laptops under 30K. Here is the list of amazing laptops under Rs. 30,000. If you have plans to invest more money, you can always refer to other laptop shopping guides – Under Rs.50,000, Under Rs.40,000 or  Under Rs.25,000.

1. Dell Inspiron 3558 Price: Rs. 27,590 (in Amazon)

Dell Inspiron 3558 is the low priced no fuss no frill laptop that can replace your desktop for a very reasonable price. You can not expect high-speed processing and super cool gaming graphic cards in this laptop because this is a very normal launch of 3000 series from Dell which can get your job done. Moreover, this laptop is not very bulky like the Inspiron 5000 and it also has a very sharp touchscreen. Dell Inspiron 3558 may not give you a fancy looking feel and design. It has a very basic looking black plastic body. But the build quality is fairly strong. The touchpad and keyboard responsiveness is very good too. Inspiron 3558 is housed with a 2.1GHz Intel Core i3-5015U processor which is good enough to make the system run without any freezes or hang ups.  The major USP of this laptop would be its low pricing point and relatively good speed.

  • CPU –  Intel Core i3-5005U
  • Memory & storage -4GB RAM
  • Display – 14 inches HD display
  • Graphics – Intel HD Graphics 5500
  • Battery – 3-cell, 40 WHr or 47 WHr

Pros – This is a very well affordable laptop with decent hardware. Also, the touch screen is very sharp and responsive. There are no complaints reported about the battery life as well. Another interesting thing I found in this laptop is that it has a built in DVD burner.

Cons – The laptop body feels too plastic. The resolution could have been made better.

2. Micromax Alpha LI351568Wx  Price: Rs 24,990

I heard about Micromax a few years back as a manufacturer of mobile phones. But today, they have expanded their product range from mobile phones to TV’s, air conditioners and of course laptops. I chose, Micromax Alpha LI351568W as a very budget friendly laptop for people who are seeking a very basic functioning laptop. For example, it is apt for everyday computing tasks and more conventional ways of working. When I said conventional, do not picture a bulky and normal looking laptop just like in the olden days. But Alpha LI351568W bears a very pretty looking design with an overall smooth feel. The 15.6-inch matte display would definitely steal your heart away. The keyboard functions very quickly and the hardware featured inside are also pretty decent and strong. Hence, my verdict is that this is a laptop which is best at a price as low as Rs.25,000. This is perfect value for money laptop.

  • CPU – Intel Core i5 5200U Processor, ~ 2.7 GHz
  • Memory & storage – DDR3 MHz SDRAM, OnBoard Memory 4 GB / 8 GB
  • Graphics Card – Nvidia GeForce 930M
  • Display – 15.6 inches
  • Battery – 2 cell lithium polymer – 36 hours

Pros -The battery life is extremely good for a laptop at this price.  The quad-cell li-ion type battery promises a continuous runtime of 4.7 hours. The good looks and RAM are another two factors which make this laptop a good buy.

Cons -The biggest disadvantage of this laptop is that it does not come with a dedicated graphics card. The buyer has to buy and install one. This limits the capability of playing games on this laptop. Secondly, it does not come with a DVD drive. Many users have opined that they did not notice this while purchasing. So, buyers, be cautious! always check the hardware specifications before making a purchase.

3. Lenovo Ideapad 100 Price: Rs 21,090

I am a big fan of Chromebook but of course affording a Chromebook is quite not easy. So, I settle for anything that resembles a Chromebook. Well, here is Lenovo’s Ideapad 100 which is similar in design and build as that of a Chromebook. And yes, the price is as low as Rs.21,000.  Never think that you are opting for a cheap laptop. No, that’s not the case here. Lenovo Ideapad 100 gives the feel of a laptop that you could rough use also. The build quality is pretty strong and you need not worry at all while carrying it in your bag. Are you considering a laptop at a very affordable price and that can be used daily for purposes which does not require high intensity works, then definitely a good bargain. Lenovo’s competition was the to build a laptop with Chromebook’s style and at a minimal cost. I would say that it has totally achieved through Lenovo Ideapad 100.

  • CPU –  2.16GHz Intel Celeron N2840 processor
  • Memory & storage -4GB RAM, 500 GB internal storage
  • Display – 14.1 -inch
  • Graphics – Integrated Intel HD Graphics
  • Battery – Up to 4 hours with 30 WHr battery

Pros -The keyboard spacing is apt and convenient while browsing. Also the plastic surface has coarse and hard finish which makes the swipes easier.

Cons – The trackpad is finicky and moved the cursor to elsewhere when you place a finger on it. The users have stated that the trackpad is able to register only some of the swipes. Also, the sound quality is supposedly terrible. My suggestion would be that always check the hardware features like speakers, DVD drive etc in such low priced laptops.

4. Lenovo Ideapad 110 Price: Rs 25,200

While Lenovo was concentrating on the Yoga models, people started looking out for much cheaper and budget friendly laptops in the market. That’s when Lenovo decided to launch its Ideapad series. I am reviewing the Lenovo Ideapad 110 which is priced at Rs.25,200. The look and feel of this laptop are just right. It may give a little bit of plastic feel but the build is pretty strong and does not feel cheap. The chiclet style keyboard appears just right for the user. The another good news is that it comes with a DVD tray, HDMI port, LAN, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and an audio jack. Moreover, the SD card is slot is also placed on the front edge of the laptop. The performance of the laptop is very fast and no lagging has been reported by the users so far. My verdict would be that this is strictly a good buy for the first time laptop buyers or students. They can definitely make use of this one especially the Pentium processors.

  • CPU – AMD A8-7410 processor
  • Memory & storage – 8GB DDR3L RAM
  • Display – 15.6 inch
  • Graphics – Intel HD Graphics
  • Battery – 24WHr; Up to 3 Hours Video Playback

Pros – The build quality and design of Lenovo Ideapad is decent enough. The sturdiness of this laptop is unbeatable. The color reproduction is fairly good at all the viewing angles.

Cons – The factor where this laptop fails is in the hinge mechanism. The display tends to wobble for some seconds before coming to rest every time you open the laptop. The users who were used to the HD display and sharp resolutions in the mobile phones could see a huge lot of difference in the laptop display.  The colors are not displayed great and also the dithering around the text is seen very vividly. If you are pretty much using this laptop for office works like MS word or excel, you will not find much of a problem here. As soon as you expand the usage like watching movies or playing games, the disadvantages will start appearing very clearly.

5. Dell Inspiron 14 3458 Price: Rs 28,990

Don’t be surprised with this model. Dell’s yet another amazing model from the 3000 series just for your budget. That’s right, Dell Inspiron 3458 is available in Flipkart for Rs.28,990 only. This system is packed with essentials in a slim design. The design is so slim that you can easily slip it into a laptop bag or a small travel bag without any hassle. The wireless connections and ports available in Inspiron 3458 are just enough for you to stay connected to the world. The speaker system will surely stimulate your audio senses. Also, there is no flimsy hinge mechanism. I would say that this laptop should be there in your choice list while buying.

  • CPU -AMD A8-7410
  • Memory & storage – 4GB
  • Display – 14 inch
  • Graphics – I2 GB
  • Battery – 4-cell Li-Ion

Pros – Affordable pricing with modest performance. If you browse a lot and want to split the screen, you will not find much of a problem while switching between tabs. The speakers are the biggest selling point of this laptop.

Cons – The keyboard spacing is too shallow. There is no enough space to rest the palm. This would be quite difficult for typing. The screen display is too low. There is also complaints stating that the glare falling on the screen is annoying. There is also a lack of details and the inaccurate display of colors.

6. Lenovo G50-70 Price: Rs.29,250

Powered by Lenovo Intel Core i3 processor, Lenovo G50-70 has something for all type of users. For students and business runners, this laptop will be able to run business applications with more ease. Also, you will not experience any lagging and delaying while working on projects and documents. How’s the look and feel? The laptop features high-quality plastic body. Also, the surfaces sport attractive brush strokes with give a high-quality feel plus grip to hold. Well, when it comes to brightness, the device works reasonably well. Performance wise, this laptop is equipped with the most expensive and fastest components like Intel Core i5-4200U. This processor allows you to conduct computational tasks very conveniently as well as helps in low energy consumption. My verdict for this one is that this is not the one for gamers. So better stay away from this.

  • CPU – Intel Core i5-4200U 1.6 GHz
  • Memory & storage – 8192 MB, DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz
  • Display – 15.6 inches
  • Graphics – AMD Radeon R5 M230 – 2048 MB
  • Battery – 32 Wh Lithium-Ion

Pros – A good model with fast processing speed for an affordable price. The Lenovo laptops always have strong and solid build. This also features good battery life.

Cons – This is not ideal for gamers. The graphic card present is too basic and can be used only for playing casual 3D games. The brightness and contrast of this laptop are not ideal for working in the outdoor. This may strain your eyes and definitely refrain from using this laptop under direct sunlight.

7. ASUS X555LD-XX055H Price: Rs 30,599

So gamers, this one is for you. ASUS X555LD-XX055H is a standard priced laptop which has high capability to deliver the flawless gaming experience. The laptop houses 1.9GHz Intel Core i3 processor from the fourth generation family. The graphics card installed is standard NVIDIA GeForce 820M which is good enough for gaming and intensive movies. Also, this is the best that can be offered at this price. ASUS X555LD-XX055H is also armed with a web camera and an inbuilt microphone which would take care of the needs of a user who does frequent video calling. Battery life could have been made better. This is something I have noticed from ASUS laptops. They invest in hardware and looks but sometimes neglect the battery life. The 2 cell Li-ion battery would not be sufficient to run longer. My verdict is that you can invest on this one if you are a gamer but do peek into the battery life before making the purchase. If you are ready to compromise on that, then please make a deal.

  • CPU – 6th generation Intel processor, Windows 10 Home
  • Memory & storage – 4 GB DDR3L, upto 16 GB RAM
  • Display – 11.6 inches
  • Graphics – Intel HD Graphics
  • Battery -3 Cell, 41 Whrs Li-ion

Pros – The best hybrid laptop from HP X360. It maneuvers really easily and the best part is that at this price you can buy a flexible laptop with decent ports for an ultraportable PC.

Cons – The battery life in the X360 is just average. It lasts for about 4 hours while streaming HD videos. The display is a bit sluggish especially when you can play around with the display screen. This affects the viewing angle.

Okay! So there you go. Time to make a decision. I can strongly say that Rs.30,000 can get you a very decent laptop which can be used for daily purposes. Gamers, sorry guys! You may have to deviate and spike up the budget a little bit. The laptops I have mentioned above are only suitable for regular daily activities. My vote goes for laptops with 6th or 5th generation core i3 processors. This would be great for surfing, office works, for school and college projects etc considering the performance quality. Also, keep in mind that you can always upgrade the RAM but never close a deal by compromising on CPU or battery life. These are the most important essence of a laptop’s life. I am eager to hear from you. Don’t forget to leave your views and experiences in the comment bar below. Happy shopping!
