The Hyundai has introduced the Elite i20 which marks a new level in luxury and design. It has launched both petrol and diesel version of this car and is priced in range of Rs 6-9 lakh.
The highlight of Elite i20 is the Fluidic Sculpture 2 theme which enhances the aesthetics, ease, comfort, safety and reliability. It’s truly the new generation vehicle and truly a good competition for its rival.
Hyundai Elite i20 Features
The Hyundai Elite i20 is much bigger and is a little more luxurious as compared to its predecessor. It measures 3,985mm in length, 1,734mm in width and 1,505mm in height and comes with a wheel base of 2,570mm.In comparison to Maruti Swift, Nissan Micra, Polo facelift Hyundai Elite is much longer. But it does fall a little short in comparison to Fiat Punto Evo. The Elite i20 comes in a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines and both are powered a four cylinder engine.
Now the petrol engine can produce of 82 bhp at 6000 rpm with a torque of 115 Nm at 4000 rpm.While the diesel engine can give you 89 bhp at 4000 rpm with a torque of 220 Nm at 1500 rpm – 2750 rpm.Now the Maruti Swift offers a four cylinder 1197cc petrol engine that can produce 86bhp and 11.62kgm.It’s 1248cc diesel version has the ability of 74bhp and 19.37kgm. Now the Nissan Micra has three cylinder 1198cc petrol engine that can generate 75bhp and 10.60kgm while its four cylinder 1461cc diesel version can produce 63.12bhp and 16.31kgm.
The Fiat Punto Evo gives you a four cylinder 1172 cc petrol engine that can generate up to 67.06bhp and 9.78kgm.Now the 1248cc diesel version can produce 74.96bhp and 20.08kgm.
Hyundai Elite i20 Fuel Efficiency and Ease of riding
Hyundai has introduced the Turbo Gasoline Direct Injection which is seen to higher performance with better fuel efficiency. They are very compact and also they offer ease in driving for the users.
The power and the torque of this engine is good and makes it easy for load management. Apart from this it has a 6 speed transmission which makes it fuel efficient and moving from first gear to second can also be done smoothly. The reverse gear may require you to raise the lever and move it reverse slot but otherwise it’s easy to operate.
Hyundai Elite i20 Interiors
The black and dual tone beige interiors looks spectacular and give an element of luxury to its riders. Cabins are well laid and the plastic used for interiors feel of superior quality. It has a dashboard together with music system, USB port and Bluetooth connectivity. The rear seats have sufficient space for three people to sit and the legroom for passengers seems generous. It also has rear air vents so the back space get easily cooled. The 3-spoke steering feels comfortable to hold and provides sufficient grip. The quality of the fabric used feels superior and hatchback comes with armrest along with storage.
As compared to the earlier model the book space has shrunk in size but it’s spacious enough to put in medium sized suitcases. Safety features include central locking, rear seat belts, door ajar warning, adjustable seats and halogen headlamps.It has been provided with head lights and fog lights which make it easier to drive in difficult weather.
Now considering a price of Rs. 4.89 lakh for base petrol model and Rs. 7.67 lakh for a top end diesel model the Hyundai Elite i20 does seem to charm its riders with its good specifications. It may seem a little pricey but considering the luxury and being a latest model the Elite i20 seems to be a good deal.
