How to get rid of split ends on hair?

Split ends are common with most girls, especially with those who have extremely dry long hair. When the hair shaft splits into two or more ends, you end up with an uninspiring hair look that can be really annoying. How can you get rid of split ends without having to spend a fortune? Read on to know more about some easy remedies.

Get a haircut for split ends

The most effective and common solution to split ends is a haircut. Make sure that you get a haircut that trims the ends rather than just trimming for a new look. In the past, women used to do candling for getting rid of hair split ends, but that can damage your hair. If you are not concerned about cutting your hair short, consult a hair expert who can suggest you a cut that can trim the ends and yet retain the basic length of your hair.

Get a hair spa or mask

Hair spa treatments can be really beneficial, and no matter what kind of hair you have, such a treatment can be really helpful. Alternatively, if hair spa treatments seem to be expensive, you can use hot oil masks that are effective and can be really useful in maintaining the moisture of the hair. The best oil mask that you can use is a mixture of olive oil, castor oil and almond oil.

The right hair care products

If split ends are recurring time and again, probably it’s  time that you check on the hair products you use. Stick to a shampoo that’s formulated for dry hair, and stick to a leave-in conditioner rather than a rinse-off one. Hair that is prone to blow drying and extreme hair treatments and styling must be taken care of in a special way.

Laziness and split ends

The simplest way to avoid split ends is to care for hair regularly. Make sure that you brush your hair several times in a day, and when needed, you must wash and oil often. Rather than applying oil for a few hours, leave olive oil on hair for at least overnight. Apart from regular brushing and care, make sure that you steer clear of dandruff and other scalp ailments that can cause the hair to damage.

If you are not lazy and like to care for your hair, you will never have to worry about split ends by any means.
