How to get rid of razor bumps
All of us wish to have a smooth skin as that makes us look confident and we tend to feel positive when we look attractive.
However, there are times when things like skin irritation and razor bumps get the better out of us. The problem is most spotted in men and women who have sensitive skin types.
So, what does one do to get rid of razor bumps?
Well, some of the ways in which you can deal with this problem include –
Products that deal with razor bumps
Products which contain salicylic acid, witch hazel, aloe, glycolic acid and other such ingredients are good at dealing with razor bumps. However, if you have failed to come across any such product, you may find out about the same from your waxing salon.
Time factor & razor bumps
There are many who have sensitive skin and thus shaving everyday or every alternate day would be problematic for them. Such men and women should shave every third day or so. This would allow the razor bumps to heal before you use the razor yet again.
Using anti-bacterial cream
If you feel the need of an anti-bacterial cream, you may very well go for products as Neosporin, Polysporin or Bacitracin. These would help you deal with any possible bacterial infection caused while shaving.
Shaving tricks for razor bumps
Try not to use dull razors while shaving as they wouldn’t give you a clean shave and would rather irritate the skin. Also remember not to press the razor down. Instead, you may hold the razor lightly and gently move it across your skin.
The need for creams
Well, creams and shaving lotions moisten the area and the hair follicles. Creams which have aloe and a moisturizing effect are good for shaving as they do not allow any razor bump.
The role of water & how it can get rid of razor bumps
Shaving in the shower is of great help in dealing with razor bumps. The steam of the hot shower makes the skin less prone to irritation and thus, you get to have a clean shave without actually hurting yourself. Once you are done shaving, use cold water to soothe your skin as it closes the pores of the skin making them less prone to irritations.
Do not prick
It’s hard to resist the temptation of pricking the razor bumps, but you should refrain from doing so as it may aggravate the situation. In fact, try not to rub the area with towel and instead use a light fabric to do the same.
Believe it or not, but there are many companies offering aftershave treatments, to deal with problems like razor bumps. However, most of these fail to deliver and thus it is always good to stick to things which you are sure to work for you.
