How to get rid of oily skin

Having oily skin can be downright frustrating, especially when you do all the makeup and want to be perfect on every outing. In most cases, over-productive sebaceous glands are responsible for oily skin, and it is possible to take care of the same at home.

Check these easy to follow tips to get rid of oily skin.

Keep oily skin clean

Make sure that you clean your face at least three times every day. Also, during summers, clean your face every three hours. Use a face wash or cleanser that’s formulated for oily skin.

Keep wipes in your purse at all times and make sure that you use the same frequently. At night, make sure you get rid of makeup because when the glands start secreting oil, you might end up having a bout of acne.

Face packs for oily skin

Mud and clay packs are known to be great for all kinds of oily skin. You can mix mud packs with honey and apply the same till it dries. Wash off in cold water. Also, you can make a mixture of egg white and lemon juice and apply the same on the face for 15 minutes every week.

This should bring down the oil secretion. Some people do suggest the use of mango or gram flower for curbing the amount of oil secreted by the skin.

Eat the right things

No matter how much you care for your skins, nothing can beat the goodness of a well maintained lifestyle. Make sure that you take healthy food and stay away from all kinds of oily and fried fast foods. Try to have ample fresh salads and vegetables along with juices of fresh fruits.

You need to cut down the intake of calories that come with junk food, something that is responsible for a more oily skin.

Above all, oily skin needs care that must come from within.

Try to have at least six to eight hours of sleep every day, and avoid stress and depression at all times. Maintain the cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine, and if the problem seems to be too much persistent, take the help of a dermatologist who can guide you on your food habits.

Avoid piercing pimples, and stay clear of makeup as much as you can as makeup is known to increase the production of oil on the face. With a little care, your skin can glow at its best!
