Often referred as canker sores or blisters, these are generally small collection of blisters that happen on the lips or close to areas of mouth. Most commonly, the Herpes simplex 1 virus is considered to be responsible for the cold sores, and as such, you can effective treat them fast. Most people and even doctors will tell you that cold sores are often a result of stress, and as such, you must avoid stressful conditions at all times. Do Yoga and regular meditation to maintain a calm body & mind. Also, use a strong sunscreen every time you step out of your home. Use SPF 10 or 30 depending on the skin type. It may not be known but cold sores can certainly be contagious. Make sure that you don’t touch them too often as you will end up spreading the disease, even more.
Maintain cleanliness & get rid of cold sores
It is important that you maintain the best levels of hygiene when you have cold sores. Keep your toothbrush away from others and use toothpaste that’s not used by people who stay with you. Make sure that you and your partner stay away from kissing as that will cause the germs to spread to him/her. You can use a cleanser, herbal wash or any kind of antiseptic lotion to keep the germs away from coming again. This can also reduce the spread of the infection.
Ointments and home remedies for cold sores
There are plenty of remedies that are used for cold sores, but the point is it always takes some time to get rid of them. You can use ice cubes on the affected areas and hold them for a minute or two. In severe cases, mint is considered to be good for sores, although, you may have a tough time using it. There are ointments available in the market that can be used on the areas of your body where the sores are worst, but what is important is that you consult a doctor or dermatologist before applying any cream.
With little care and some amount of hygiene, you can certainly avoid cold sores and bounce back with a perfect look.
