9 Foods That Helps Cure Headaches

People of all ages suffer from headaches which are not easy to handle.  There are many causes for headaches and one of the common reasons is diet.  Some headaches are balmy annoyances while some others are skull-crushing disturbances.

Depending on the type of headache, treatment can vary. Even though some foods can cause headaches, certain foods are capable to cure them.  Natural remedies are more advisable for headaches than medications.

1. Water


The most reliable and cheapest food that cures a headache is water.  A common cause for headache is dehydration. If you have a hangover or vomited recently, there are chances for headaches.  You can flush out toxins in our body through sweat, urine and stool if your body is hydrated.  Through an intricate mechanism, water helps to regulate the temperature of our body.  Drink a glass of water whenever you feel headaches and try to drink it throughout the day in small sips. The pain will start to ease gradually.

2. Coffee


If you are suffering from severe headache, drink a cup of strong coffee as it can reduce your pain. Since the coffee contains caffeine, it helps to shrink the small blood vessels inside the cranium. As a result, the nerve endings that cause the feeling of pain gets hypo-stimulated.

3. Tea


Just like coffee, a strong cup of tea is also useful to cure headaches. Since tea contains tannin, the steam of hot tea can release your sinuses. Besides, it contains catechins, a strong antioxidant that can be useful to remove toxins from our body systems and provide relief from headaches. Different types of teas can be prepared depending on one’s choice. Choose a green, black or white tea or some herbal tea and drink it hot. 9. Milk


Milk is another natural remedy that helps to cure mild headaches. Warm milk is helpful to treat headaches as it has a soothing effect on the nervous system of our body.  Add sugar and drink a glassful of milk if you have irritating headaches.
